Grace's b-day

Today is my cute little girl's 4th birthday. We have been celebrating all weekend. It started by taking the kids skiing on Friday. They had a blast and are both very good. I will post pictures of that later. Then Saturday we had a Fancy Nancy party. It was super fun. We sent out an invitation that went like this:
Bonjour everybody,
Ooh la la. Grace is having a Soiree. As Nancy would say,"That's a fancy word for party". Dress in your fanciest attire or accessories(if you don't have any, some will be provided) and join her for a fabulous brunch(that's a fancy word for a late breakfast) party fit for a Queen.
Please join us Saturday, February 28th at 10 a.m. for brunch at Grace's residence. If you could Repondenz s'il vous plait (that's a fancy word for R.S.V.P.) to the hostess (Bonnie).

Then the fun began. Grace wanted a "wedding cake" which I found out meant a tiered cake. We decorated in Fancy Nancy's favorite colors, purple and pink. Then on Saturday morning Grace's grandparents, cousins, aunts & uncles arrived in their finest attire(thanks everyone for being such good sports...it made it fun). We ate crepes (filled with bacon, ham, salsa, raspberries, jams, blueberries, bananas, nutella, strawberries, powdered sugar, etc.) We had mini muffins, parfaits and orange juice. The tables were decorated with bows, candy and dipped goblets. We followed with gifts and cake and ice cream. It was so much fun and if I wasn't so tired... I might say I'd do it again.

Yesterday was Grandpa Paul's birthday so we celebrated again with a nice lasagna dinner and more cake! Today we are taking Grace to build-a-bear. She is also at preschool where she will celebrate with friends.

All this celebrating has given me a chance to think of how blessed I am. Having family who supports me(even with wild birthday party ideas), adorable kids and a great husband are just some of the things I enjoy. I also was thinking about why I love my daughter. Here are a few reasons:
1. she is cute
2. she is almost always happy
3. she says the funniest things
4. she can't say her "r"s and that is always funny
5. she isn't afraid to love being a girl
6. she is super tough and doesn't cry when she gets hurt
7. she loves her family
8. she gives the best hugs & kisses
9. you can't stay mad at her for long
10. she always loves me (at least until she's a teenager, right?)

Happy Birthday Grace! You are such a big girl now and such a sweetheart! I remember when you were born and thought your mom was so lucky to have such a beautiful little girl. For some reason I am crying while I send this message. I guess that means I love you (and your family) so much. You are such a sweetheart! May all your birthday wishes come true!!! Love, Great Cousin Leslie
