The 24th Week

Rodeo Time

We had a busy and fun 24th weekend. We started out by going to the Fiesta Days Rodeo. We love this rodeo and my kids beg to go. Jaden was fascinated the whole time and asked all kinds of questions. He loves muttin bustin and was upset that he didn't get to do it. Grace, however, asked when we were going home after only 5 minutes. Lane slept through most of it. They did love the clown and the bulls though.

Baby Moses

Then we went camping for the weekend. It was perfect weather and was nice to get away from the heat. Lane slept from 11 to 4 a.m which was a first but my other two kids were up so I still didn't get to sleep. I usually have Lane sleep with me but I get uncomfortable so we brought the laundry basket and it proved to be a perfect bed. He did look like Baby Moses and we considered sending him down the river...JK!
I also found out that my 5 year old drives the four-wheeler. I guess he has been doing it for a while but nobody wanted to tell me. He does a great job and I was impressed(he always wears a helmet and drives only when an adult is with him). He is much better than me. He also got into shooting a bow and spent hours doing it. His form and accuracy are awesome. I am having a hard time with him growing up though. I can't believe he is doing all these things.

Cory's birthday
Then on Sunday we celebrated Cory's 32nd birthday. I think his parents, grandparents and kids were more excited than he was. We had everyone over for cake and ice cream.

My daughter is...

Grace wanted to know what princess she was. I answered the questions based on her personality and this is what I ended up with. I love the "following orders isn't one of your strong points"! Too funny!

Independent and adventurous. You don't want much; just to break out of the guilded cage society has put you in and experience life to the fullest. Following orders isn't really one of your strong points, and you would rather live a life of poverty than being forced into something that you hate.

Which Princess are you?

You Are Ariel!

Headstrong and fiesty. You have a mind of your own that's full of romantic dreams about the world around you. Exploring exotic places is your ultimate dream, and although you can be a little naive you'll realize that there is something to be gained from your family's wisdom.

1st week of swimming

The kids started swimming lessons again. I wish I could find somewhere that swimming lessons doesn't feel so lame. My kids love the water and we spend so much time in it that I want them to be safe but I don't want to wait until they are 10 before they can swim on their own. That being said, until I find somewhere else, I put them in swimming lessons again. Payson has a new pool that the kids love. The first morning, they were both so excited to go. They had their suits on and sat by the door waiting for me for about 20 minutes. As soon as we get to the pool Grace wants in(even if it is just her toe). Jaden loves going under water and can float on his back now.

I might as well be high

I heard on the news that a mother seeing her child smile is as much as a high as actually getting high. I know I am biased but my baby is soooo cute! He is happy as can be first thing in the morning and smiles and talks. He is getting so chubby and I think that is cute as well. He is also starting to discover his hands and I love it when he gets a fist full of Grace hair(sounds mean but you should see her get in his face and it kinda serves her right) Now I also must confess that I'm a horrible mom. The other night we went to Seven Peaks together. Jaden and Grace were so excited and they are right at the age where it is fun to go together because they need you but they can do all the things too. Anyway, I ended up spending the whole night sitting on the blanket with Lane(the water was too cold for him) while Cory and the kids had a blast. I was starting to wonder why we ever had Lane (don't gasp, I know it isn't a nice thought). Of course it was totally selfish and I was just feeling sorry for myself and the next morning when I got that adorable smile, I melted. We do love our little guy!!

4th of July camping

We went camping this last weekend and had tons of fun. Here is my favorite picture of my kids. Jaden is actually asleep not just hiding under his pillow.

Grandma Floyd's 80th b-day

We got to celebrate my granmda's 80th birthday party and see cousins, aunts and uncles that I haven't seen in years. I also got to take my kids to see grandma's library. She even let them check out some books to leave at Grandma Jane's house until they could be returned to the Garden City library.

Bear Lake

We got to spend and extended weekend at Bear Lake because my friend got married on Tuesday the 1st. It was so fun to go to the lake. My kids love summers in Bear Lake. I have a hard time leaving every summer and always wish I could be there more. I get very nostalgic and wish my kids could grow up in the same great place I did.

Grandma Camp Injuries

Poor Cambree bonked her nose really hard and had a huge goose egg. Then Jaden got a good scratch on his nose. Then Grace hurt her knee and then Cambree got a bloody lip. By the time we got to Bear Lake for my grandma's 80th birthday party we looked a bit abused. The kids had a great time though.

Grandma Camp "Magoon"

I'm a little behind in posting but the weekend of the 28th we got to spend time with my family. It started with our annual Grandma Camp which is where my mom spoils her grandchildren, the kids play till their exhausted, and mom, Crysti and I enjoy adult conversation. We usually go to Middleton, ID where Pres and Crysit lived but they just moved. Instead we met at my house and did the Bean Museum at BYU and ice cream, followed by Jaden's t-ball game and dinner. The next day we went to Lagoon. This was my kids first experience at Lagoon and they still haven't stopped talking about it. Grace calls it "Magoon". They had so much fun.
