Jazz Game, SuperStar, Skiing

Jaden has been playing basketball for the last few months(maybe I should get some pics:)) and has fallen in love. He wants to know everything about it. Cory had mentioned that we should take him to a Jazz game. A few weeks ago we were sitting around on Friday afternoon and I looked up Jazz tickets for that night on KSL. It was a crappy game and we found tickets real cheap so we raced to the game. The whole time I kept thinking how great this was and how I never got to go to Jazz games when I was a kid. I was almost giddy with our success for finding and affording a game. When we got to the arena...I took the kids pics with the statues.

Then we headed inside so the kids could see the intros. First thing we learned was that Grace is terrified of heights. Of course we were in the nose-bleed section, she was hsyterical and wanted to go "down". I convinced her to hold my hand and after the dancers came out and with the promise of a "treat" she calmed down.

Jaden and Cory enjoyed the first half. But right before half time Jaden started complaining about a headache. I sent Cory with Grace "down" to get a treat and I took over Jaden. He perked up a bit for popcorn and then with about 3 minutes left in the game he was crying and wanted to go because of the pain. We managed to wait until the end of the game and then headed to the car. We had just crossed the crosswalk with our police escort and the swarm of people leaving the game when Jaden started puking all over the sidewalk. I'm not sure whether we were successful or not.

Jaden also won his school's "Super Star Award" again. Some of the requirements for this year were: Advance 3 levels in reading(he's advanced 6), get 100% on 5 spelling tests(he has got 100% on all but 2), receive the kool kids award(a recognition for being nice-he has done this twice), go 5 straight days without t.v. or video games(he did this after he got a Wii for Christmas) and about 15 other goals. We are very proud of him.

The kids have also been skiing a couple times this year and love it. Jaden doesn't want to stop and Grace is quiet and determined. I'm very proud of both of them. I haven't left the bunny hill for a few years now and with Lane coming up on skiing age...it doesn't look like I'm going to. My dad and Patrick met us at Beaver Mountain and took Jaden for the day. So much fun to ski with them. My mom-in-law and two sis-in-laws and their kiddos were also there and it made for a great day. I couldn't have done it without help though.

Fun! It sounds like you guys have had a lot of fun minus the headache and throwing-up!

We should get Jaden and my boys together. My boys are both playing basketball this year and are OBSESSED! Noah checks NBA.com every day and informs us of the Jazz's schedule for the week. I'm sorry you had a sick, puking child after the game. We always love a good Jazz game and try to go at least once a season. Also, how on Earth do you take all your kids skiing? I'm impressed!
